You love live music, to move to it, to get exercise, to make friends. Typically 60 to 90 of us are dancing each Sunday. This is a great place for non-dancers to explore a new kind of fun, for experienced dancers new to contra dance, and of course returning contra dancers. No experience necessary! This is a south west Riverside area group organized for the purpose of bluegrass jamming. This is a an ALL acoustic jam.  The location of this meet up is to be determined.  The plan is to play old grass, new grass, progressive, whatever, but it's mostlyl bluegrass.  Many of the existing regional jams wind up playing mostly old timey and old country.  We love old timey & country, but this is designed to salve the bluegras addiction. Let's start a contra dance group in the Palm Springs area. Contra is a type of American folk dance, using moves similar to those in square dance (but in two facing lines instead of squares), and danced to high-energy fiddle music, such as that from the Irish and Scottish traditions. All dances are taught and called, so no experience or previous lessons are necessary. It's also not necessary to come with a partner.
